FAQ

Here, you can find answers to frequently asked questions

  • All current treatments can be found here

  • While we always welcome visitors to see the space and gain a better understanding of what we do, your first clinical interaction, after an initial screening, will be remote, with one of our clinicians and using our Observational AI tool. This will take approximately 45 minutes and can be done from the comfort of your home.
Your first onsite experience will be for your treatment. If you are an iTMS patient, you can expect a full day or half day of sessions, each about 8 minutes with about 50 minutes in between. We are equipped with private relaxation rooms so you can chill, watch TV, read, or even play video games during this downtime, or you can stretch your legs in the nearby area while you await your next session.

  • Some insurances do cover treatment, such as Cigna and Tricare, while we are working on others. We hope that we will soon be able to say that the whole procedure is well covered by all insurance plans. Please contact us to discuss.

  • Experience this life-changing care with a schedule tailored to your needs. Choose from two options: 5 sessions per day (once every hour) for 10 consecutive days, or 10 sessions per day (once every hour) for 5 consecutive days. Contact us to learn more and let us help you find the schedule that works best for you.

  • If you haven’t heard of Impact TMS, than yes, it’s different. TMS has been around for some time, and it is somewhat effective. But those results pale in comparison to these new treatment protocols. For most people, this is something entirely new…with a much higher chance of success.

  • If your insurance plan is not accepted at our office, we provide several flexible payment options to make treatment more accessible. These include:

    • All major credit cards

    • HSA/FSA cards

    • Checks and cash

    • Wire transfers/ACH payments

Financing through CareCredit, a specialized health, wellness, and personal care credit card
CareCredit allows you to finance the care you need, making it easier to access treatment without delay.

  • Most TMS patients report minimal to no discomfort during the procedure. Some may feel mild tenderness at the treatment site on the head during the first few sessions, which typically resolves quickly. Others might experience a short-lasting mild headache, which usually does not require medication.

  • Yes, you can drive immediately after your TMS treatment without any concerns. Patients are free to resume all their normal activities right after each session.

  • TMS therapy is a non-invasive treatment that does not circulate through the body, so it avoids many of the side effects commonly associated with medications.
The most common side effect of TMS therapy is mild scalp pain or discomfort during treatment sessions. This can typically be managed with an over-the-counter pain reliever if needed. In rare cases where discomfort persists, your doctor can adjust the strength of the magnetic field pulses to enhance your comfort without compromising the effectiveness of treatment.

  • Depression affects individuals differently, with a variety of symptoms that can vary from person to person. As a result, responses to TMS therapy can differ.  That said, many patients report experiencing positive changes within the first one to two weeks of treatment. These changes often include:

    • Clearer thinking

    • Improved sleep patterns

    • Increased energy levels

    • Enhanced appetite

In many cases, these physical and cognitive improvements appear before noticeable changes in mood. While the timeline can vary, TMS therapy often provides steady progress over the course of treatment.

  • No, TMS therapy is entirely different from electric shock therapy (also known as electroconvulsive therapy or ECT).  TMS uses magnetic fields to gently stimulate specific areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Unlike ECT, TMS:

    • Does not cause seizures

    • Does not require anesthesia

    • Is a non-invasive procedure

During a TMS session, patients remain awake, alert, and comfortable, with no need for recovery time afterward.
